Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: My 4-year-old has never taken a dance class.  Do I have to buy dance clothes for just one week of camp?

A: Children in Skip, Gallop, Leap do not need “dance clothes,” but do need to wear clothes that allow them to move freely.  If your child would like to see what ballet slippers feel like, we have shoes he could borrow for the day.

Q: I’m 12. I’ve taken ballet for seven years, but I have never had any modern or jazz. Will I be able to keep up with the other dancers in the Level Two Camp?

A:  Yes!  Ballet is an excellent base for other forms of dance, and dance camp is a wonderful time to experiment with new dance forms. (p.s. Many of the dancers in your camp will also be new to jazz, modern, and/or tap.)

Q: During lunch, can I walk to Chic-fil-A and get myself a sandwich?

A: No. Please bring your lunch with you, or have a parent deliver it before the lunch break.  You will eat your lunch during the seminar.

Q:  I’ve taken jazz classes but no ballet. Is there any camp I can come to?

A: Yes. You can register for a “half day” of either Level Two (10:30-3:00) or Level Three (12:30-5:00) Dance Camp. You will have daily classes of jazz, modern and tap.

Q: My two-year-old loves to twirl around the living room.  Can she come to Skip, Gallop Leap?

A: Let your two- year-old twirl to her heart’s content. We look forward to welcoming her for our regular season when she's three, and for our summer camp when she's four.
